Treatment
Drug Therapy
Treatment of uncomplicated acute seasonal influenza in adults, adolescents, pregnant women, and children greater than or equal to 1 year old
OSELTAMIVIR PHOSPHATE
Adults: 75 mg orally twice daily for 5 days
Pediatrics (>1 year old and ?15 kg): 30 mg orally twice daily for 5 days
Pediatrics (>15 to 23 kg): 45 mg orally twice daily for 5 days
Pediatrics (>23 to 40 kg): 60 mg orally twice daily for 5 days
Pediatrics (>40 kg): 75 mg orally twice daily for 5 days
ZANAMIVIR
Adults: 10 mg (two 5-mg oral inhalations) every 12 hours for 5 days
Pediatrics (?7 years): 10 mg (two 5-mg oral inhalations) every 12 hours for 5 days
Suspected seasonal influenza A (H1N1)
RIMANTADINE
Adults: 200 mg orally daily as a single dose or divided into 2 doses
AMANTADINE
Adults: 200 mg orally daily as a single dose or divided into 2 doses
Pediatrics (1 to 9 years): 5 to 8 mg/kg orally daily as a single dose or divided into 2 doses (maximum daily dose 150 mg)
Pediatrics (9 to 12 years): 200 mg orally daily divided into 2 doses
